The Missouri Council for Affordable Rental Housing (MOCARH) is a non-profit trade organization.  Since 1985, MOCARH has served as Missouri's premier association for participants in the affordable housing profession.  MOCARH's membership includes owners, developers, management companies, site managers, non-profits, syndicators, accountants and companies that supply goods and services to the industry.  MOCARH's primary focus is to serve the management companies and site managers in Missouri's affordable housing industry by providing training, vendor savings, forms and remaining active with CARH on the National level.

September 27-29, 2016 Branson, Missouri

MOCARH will hold its Annual Conference and Vendor Fair in Branson, Missouri on September 27-29, 2016.  The event will be held at the Branson Convention Center with the Hilton Convention Center Hotel as the host hotel.  Representatives from MOCARH will be on site for check-in registration September 26 from 3-7 pm in the Atrium of the Convention Center and beginning at 6 am on September 27.  The daily events will begin at 8 am with breakfast available at 6 am each day.

Nationally syndicated radio and television broadcaster, author and international speaker Andrew McCrea is the featured key-note speaker and will deliver a timely message on a “Making Molehills Out of Mountains”We’ve all done it. We make little things into big things. Soon enough, those little molehills become huge mountains that keep us from accomplishing what we want to do in life.  You will learn leadership strategies that reduce your work without reducing your goal from this Oscar winning speaker.

The National Center for Housing Management will present a ½ day seminar on Fair Housing Essentials. In addition, they will provide training on How to Prepare for a Management & Occupancy Review (MOR) and Real Estate Assessment Center – REAC Readiness.  In addition, NCHM will present a new training course designed especially for those involved in Rural Housing

Pam Anglin, Housing Program Director with Rural Development will host a training session Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and     How to Prepare for Supervisory VisitsMarian Campbell, Director of Asset Management with the Missouri Housing Development Commission will host training session on Income & Asset Calculations and Messages from MHDC which provides for discussion on topics such a non-compliance fees, management portfolio reviews, management certification process and more. These two breakout sessions will run simultaneously and attendees may choose to attend one or the other.  The topics will be on issues pertinent to compliance and reporting for each agency.

MOCARH will host a Vendor Fair in connection with the conference.  We have invited vendors that represent products and services that directly affect your business whether daily, weekly, monthly or annually from repair services, supplies, pest control and more. Several of our Vendor Partners (HD Supply, Grind All, Sherwin Williams, Ram Lock….) will be providing training for Maintenance Staff on timely topics and products.

The conference will feature a timely training on Drug Awareness and Prevention presented by experienced ATF Agents you won’t want to miss.

MOCARH will provide breakfast and lunch both days as well as networking event the Tuesday evening with food and beverages.  Registration fees for MOCARH members and representatives from their associated properties is $425 per person.  Registration fees for non-members is $525 per person. 

Hotel fees are not included and are the responsibility of the attendee.   Please make your reservations with the Hilton Hotel Branson Convention Center at 866-442-0959 and reference the MOCARH group code. The MOCARH rate is $135 per night (taxes not included). A block of rooms has been reserved for September 24 – October 2, 2016. The special room rate will be available until September 6, 2016 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.  The Branson Convention and Visitors Bureau will make discounted tickets to area events available to all attendees.  Bring the family, stay for the weekend and enjoy Branson!
